The two senior members consti-tuted the nucleus, the direct successors of the last Faculty under theRegents, and they elected Professors Smith and Griffith to the samechairs in the revived Faculty which they had just resigned. Pro-fessor Hall was made Dean and, as Secretary of the old Board ofRegents, was directed to call a meeting of the same, a majority ofthem being still alive. In accordance with the notice the Regentsmet and resolved to obtain further advice from counsel as to thelegality of holding lectures the next sesssion under the old charter. >MS.
