The Alpine ear is the ear of the fat man. It islarge, round, or ovaland without lobule. The helix is continuous around the ear to thelower margin, where it turns forward to terminate in the anthelix andcheek, and thus forms a shelf which is supported by the part of theear that should be the lobule, but is firmly attaclied to the cheek. Theconcha is large and open. The Alpine ear is related to the B. B. B. on the one hand and to theMalay on the other. The three types shade into each other
