An AH-1W Super Cobra from Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 265 (HMM-265), the Air Combat Element (ACE) for the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), lands aboard USS BELLEAU WOOD (LHA 3) during the ACE fly on in preparation for Special Operations Capable qualification Exercise (SOCEX). The SOCEX training exercise prepares the MEU for special missions including humanitarian assistance/disaster relief, non-combatant evacuations, tactical recoveries of aircraft and personnel, amphibious raids, and show-of-force operations.
