The standard gate for suburban railway crossing, VirginianRy., Fig. 108, consists of a 10 X 10 post set into the groundwith 3 X 10 X 4 sill support and 2 X 6 braces held atthe top and anchored into the ground with a J-rod brace asshown; the gate is made of 6 X 8 upright, a tapered horizontalarm with brace of Ij X 8 material held by J diagonal tensionrod at top.
