Agaricus furfuraceus Pers.—Pileuspale cinnamon when wet, whitish-tan whendry, obtuse when young, umbilicate whenmature, and silky-furfuraceous, not viscid;gills somewhat decurrent, bright cinnamon,more or less distant; stalk hollow, equal,furfuraceous when young, same colour aspileus, white-villous at base. A. furfuraceus is very variable, and isfrequent among chips in wood-yards, andon dead twigs in woods and hed<..esides, ^^AtaTSP^LXalus^pTrwhere it grows in quantity. (One-half natural size.) Sub-genus 20. Crepidotus.—There are twelve British speciesof Crepidotus, of which one only is represented by a model.
