Commemorative bronze plaque. Ground level of Arc de Triomphe (Arch of Triumph). Commissioned in 1806 by Emperor Napoleon I after the Victory of Austerlitz. Designed by Jean Chalgrin in 1806, inspired in Roman Arch of Titus, to honour those who fought for France (particularly during the Napoleonic Wars) and includes also the Tomb of the unknown soldier. It is the second largest triumphal arch worldwide (first is in Oyongyang, Korea) with 51 meters (165ft) in height by 45 meters (145,5ft) in wide.
