Josip Juraj Strossmayer (1815-1905) was a bishop of the Catholic Church, benefactor and politician of Croatia. Bishop of Dakovo, one of the promoters of the Yugoslav national idea. He is considered the founder of the University of Zagreb and the Yugoslav Academy of Arts and Sciences, Europe.
