Sikh yoth perform gatka martial art form enroute of nagar keertan a festival on 25 November, 2012 in Hyderabad,India.


colourful Nagar Keertan is part of the 543 birthday celebrations of the first Sikh Guru and founder of Sikh religion Guru Nanak,started from Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Afzalgunj and pass through Siddiambar Bazar, Jambagh, Putli Bowli, and Central Gurudwara Saheb, Gowliguda. The holy scripture Guru Granth Sahib was carried on a bedecked vehicle followed by religious flag bearers, and five beloved ones (Panj Pyaras). Gatka, a sikh martial art form, was performed en route the procession. Sikhism was founded in the 15th century by Guru Nanak, who broke away from Hinduism, India's dominant religion. He preached the equality of races and genders, and the rejection of image-worship and the caste system. The procession concludes at the Gurudwara with Ardas.
