Tyneham, UK. 26th Mar, 2015. Tyneham village was evacuated in 1943 in preparation for WWII and has been deserted ever since. The MOD army ranges in East Lulworth are occasionally opened for the general public to visit which allows visitors to walk through the empty streets and derelict houses. The 225 displaced village residents had plans to return as the arrangement to seize the village was only temporary, to last the duration of the war but was subsequently compulsory purchased in 1948. The 225 displaced village residents had plans to return as the arrangement to seize the village was only temporary, to last the duration of the war but was subsequently compulsory purchased in 1948. Today it is home to a thriving wildlife population and only tourists can visit the abandoned village and can walk the eerie empty streets and ruins in a tranquil setting.
