Color is somewhat similar to Sunshine Girl but J. D. Long says the variety is much better. Should make a fine commercial. BAGDAD. (Sdlg. 26124) (Emile Auburn x Apricot Glow) (Ex) (Dec) (Com) (85-90) Smoky old rose, deeper to petal edges and lighter in throat. Smooth undecked color. Lip petals with faint creamy blotch, marked with penciling and peppering of begonia rose. 5-6 very large blooms, often six or more inches across, open at a time on extremely tall, strong straight spikes. Fine propagator. Though this is called a smoky rose there is really not much smoke in it until the blooms stand a couple of days. I believe this will become a good commercial It is a real glad. "Had splendid success with last year's purchase of bulblets. From Bagdad started in February indoors and set out in April had elegant blooms in August which were judged with blooms from large bulbs and placed first in smokies at out Garfield Park Show in Chicago.
