BREMERTON, Washington (May 3, 2017) Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Equipment) Maria Thompson, from Gallup, New Mexico, grinds the deck in one of USS John C. Stennis' (CVN 74) aircraft catapult machinery rooms while conducting deck preservation. John C. Stennis is conducting a planned incremental availability (PIA) at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility, during which the ship is undergoing scheduled maintenance and upgrades.
