12/05/21 Scarlett Corbett, 13, rides her chestnut Arab mare, Twinkle, 22, over one of the many ancient lead mine spoil heaps on her grandparentsÕ farm. Dandelions carpet 50 acres of farmland overlooking Carsington water near Hopton, Derbyshire. Brian and Bridget Corbett have farmed the hill farm organically for 20 years. Left to grow naturally the dandelions at Sycamore Farm are a haven for skylarks with half-a-dozen pairs nesting on the farm. The dandelions and grass will eventually be cut for silage, but only once all the skylarks have fledged. The CorbettÕs farm in harmony with nature and are part of the GovernmentÕs Countryside Stewardship Scheme which aims to protect and enhance the natural environment by increasing biodiversity, boosting habitats and improving water and air quality.
