On Riva Degli Schiavoni that runs along the shore of the Venetian Lagoon in Venice, Italy, is the tall bell tower, Campanile di San Marco (St Mark's Bell Tower). Directly below is the Palazzo della Zecca, a 16th-century building of the former official government mint. Today, the Zecca is now a storeroom of books to the adjoining Biblioteca Marciana San. Marco (National library of 's). Further along, is the long the lagoon is the white building of the Doge's Palace. There are about100 Palazzos (palaces) in Venice whereas Rome, Florence and Milan each have no more than 8 Palazzos
