Regenerating forest grow high above blue bays of Pacific Ocean and Golden Bay in the very northern part of Abel Tasman National tree ferns grow on the slopes. Im Norden des Abel Tasman Nationalparks erholt der Wald sich von den Kahlschlägen vergangener Zeiten. Am Fuß der Berge schimmdert das blaue Wasser der Buchten des Pazifiks und der Golden den Berghängen wachsen einige Meter hohe Baumfarne.
