At the beginning of last week stock was scarce, but toward the close the market was in a fair condition. Short roses are scarcer than the longer grades, but more sunshine would relieve the situation. Carnations are in fair abundance and are welcome because of the scarcity of other stock. Easter and calla lilies have taken a jump in demand and are cleaning up as fast as they are being sent in. Thev are now bringing $;) to $20 per hun- dred. This market saw more sweet peas last week than at any other time this season, and, what is also good news, they jire selling at $2 to $?, per hun- dred. Paper White narcissus is the only flower left in the refrigerators at the close of the day's business and there are not enormous numbers of it.
