A beef tomato or beefsteak tomato is any of the largest varieties of cultivated tomatoes, some weighing 450 grams or more. Beefsteak tomatoes grow as large as 1 to 2 pounds per fruit, with a single slice of some varieties large enough to cover a slice of bread. Beefsteaks are considered long-season tomatoes which take much longer to mature than early tomato varieties
