Thailand: Pridi Banomyong (11 May 1900 - 2 May 1983), 7th Prime Minister of Thailand (r. 31 August 1945 – 17 September 1945), c. 1940s. Pridi Banomyong was a highly-revered Thai politician. He was a Prime Minister and was named one of the world's great personalities of the 20th century by UNESCO in 2000. He was a leader of the civilian wing of Khana Ratsadon (The People's Party), and played a part in the 1932 Siamese Revolution. He briefly became Prime Minister in 1946, but his political opponents painted him as the mastermind behind the death of King Ananda Mahidol, leading to his exile.
