Manila Bay, Philippines. Aug 04,2024: The Pacific War Memorial on Corregidor Island was erected in 1968 by United States government to commemorate Filipino & American soldiers who died during WW2. It was the first American monument on Philippine soil since US recognized the country independence. This week, the US Secretaries of State & Defense visited the archipelago to announce $500 million in military aid to boost PH defense, modernize the Philippine army & coast guard.
