AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts's Men's Track and Field alumnus Andrew McCann finished 17th in the men's elite race at the 2022 London Marathon, which was held on October 2. The 2010 graduate ran a 2 time to place as the top male American finisher. McCann also qualified for the Olympic Trials in August, running a 2 in Grandma's Marathon, hosted in Duluth, Minnesota on June 18, 2022. During his time as a Minuteman, McCann ran the No. 3 all-time best time in the 10,000-meters (30) in 2008, winning him gold at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championship meet. McCann also won gold in the 10,000-meter run in the 2009 Outdoor New England Championship meet. He was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference team in cross country (2007, 2009) and Academic All-Conference in Cross Country (2007).
