The territorywhich comprises the upper waters of the Sturgeon River east and west of the Algoma-Nipibsing boundary line, extending east as far as Smooth Water Lake and the east branchof the Montreal River, and comprising about one hundred and twenty-five square milesof country, is undoubtedly the best spruce territory we found south of the height of district also carries quantities of whitewood and poplar, a very noticeable feature ofthese timbers being that they are invariably found growing in .a brotherly way to the. Kettle Falls, Sturgeon River. Party No. 3.
