London, UK. 20th July, 2013. Activists sealed off a cash machine as UK Uncut hold demonstrations outside two London branches of HSBC in protest against what they say is tax dodging by the bank, as welfare cuts drive more people to reliance on foodbanks. Credit: Paul Davey/Alamy Live News
UK Uncut held a food bank demonstration outside two branches of HSBC Bank in Regent's Street and Oxford Street in central London. The activists brough packages of food which were later donated to a food bank. They demand that HSBC stops "dodging tax" which deprives the Treasury of resources to fund welfare. They claim that more and more people are being driven to use food banks thanks to austerity measures.
