Burrowbridge, UK. 22nd Feb, 2014. A new pump flown in by Merlin helicopter is being made operational by Army Commandos at Burrowbridge on February 22, 2014. The pump will supply Saltmoor Pumping Station, run by the Environment Agency, with diesel fuel for its addiitional water pumps that have been installed to remove the high volume of flood water from the surrounding fields around Northmoor and village of Moorland and pump it into the River Parrett where it is carried away by the tide. Fuel will be carried several hundred meters along the bank of the River Parrett to the pumping station.
