102nd Intelligence Wing civil engineer Perry Seymour cuts a bolt to remove the T-33 aircraft on static display honoring Gen. Daniel "Chappie" James Jr. at Joint Base Cape Cod on September 14, 2018. The display is in the process of being refurbished. Gen. James was the first African American four-star general in the United States Military and served as an all-weather jet fighter pilot at Otis Air Force Base in the 1950s. In April 1953 he became commander of the 437th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, and in August 1955 he assumed command of the 60th FIS on base.
