Council of Vienne. Ecumenical Council of the Catholic Church held in Vienne (France), in the cathedral of St Maurice (October 1311-May 1312). It was convoked by Pope Clement V (1264-1314). One of the resolutions of the council was the suppression of the Order of the Temple by papal bull on 22 March 1312.
