This color is produced some- times (not regularly) by crossing black and white birds, and in re- production continuously produces some black and some white, as well as blue, specimens. In size and shape the Andalusian is between the Leghorn and the Minorca. As usually bred it is more of the Leghorn than of the Minorca type. American Standard weights are cock, 6 pounds; cockerel, 5 pounds; hen, 5 pounds; pullet, 4 pounds. The Andalusian has long been known in England, but is a com- paratively recent arrival in America. Here it is a favorite with a few, but is not generally popular, be- cause of the uncertainty of color in breeding. Other races of the Mediterranean type.
