The village Kallmuenz is a municipality in the district of Regensburg , Upper Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany; Europe. It is situated at the river Naab about 25 km north of Regensburg Kallmuenz has a beautiful medieval center. The main attractions are the ruins of its Castle high above the town on a cliff. The castle was the seat of the former Counts of Kallmuenz There is an old medieval stone bridge over the river Naab bearing masons Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky and the German expressionist painter Gabriele Münter met during the summer of 1903 in Kallmuenz Since that time lovely town Kallmünz is a constant home to a small Art colony.
