This is successfully accomplishedby acomplete system of feeders and by using the watersof the sound and of a creek for a ground return. Theconstruction and equipment of this road was done underthe sole supervision of S. B. Livermore, who has been anengineer of the railway department of the Thomson- i^ ^. A LONG CUT ON GRADE. Houston Electric Company since March, 1889. Theroad having reverted to the Northwest Thomson-HoustonCompany by reason of failure of local parties to carryout contract, Mr. Livermore has remained in charge asGeneral Manager, in the interests of the ConstructionCompany. Although the road was not expected to domuch for the first three years, under his careful manage-ment it is now on a paying basis and its prospects mostflattering. Mr. Livermore is a thoroughly practicahprogressive man, and with his charming wife are promi-nent in Tacoma society. The other officers are H. , president; H. W. Goode, vice president;Robert Sale Hill, secretary and treasurer. Arrangements have just been completed by which thisinteresting line becomes a part of the Tacoma Railway& Motor Companys system.
