The SHAEF Memorial & plaque. Bushy Park. Teddington. Middlesex. SHAEF (Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Forces) was the headquarters of the Commander of Allied forces in north west Europe, from late 1943 until the end of World War II. General Dwight D. Eisenhower was in command of SHAEF. Eisenhower moved SHAEF from Grosvenor Square in London to Camp Griffiss, a large US base in Bushy Park. From here he planned Operation Overlord, the code name of the D-Day landings in Normandy. (85)
