The sta-tion, erected in 1858, still is standingalong the now-elevated tracks justsouth of Mikes Car Wash betweenCalhoun and Clinton streets. The102-year-old building, unused as astation since about 1912, was soldby the Pennsylvania Railroad a fewyears ago to C. A. Grieger Co. Theauto agency uses it for storage. Lincoln caught an eastboundtrain there at 1:12 Thursday,Feb. 23, 1860. He passed throughFort Wayne on his return trip at5:20 the following March 13. The newspaper item which led tothe discovery that Lincoln had beenin Fort Wayne appeared in the , 1860, issue of Dawsons DailyNews of Fort Wayne. It reads: Hon.
