The dimensions of butt and shank must be withinthe limits of variation shown by the companys drawing. 7. The name of coupler must be legibly cast on the topside of head of the bar. Each knuckle and each drawbarmust bear a serial number legibly stamped or cast upon knuckle must also bear the name of the coupler andthe manufacturers name or identification mark legibly castor stamped at some point where it will not be worn off. 8. Every coupler complying with the above requirementsmust have legibly cast in raised letters on the head, and inplain view where they will not be worn off, the letters M. C. B.; this mark to be evidence that the coupler is anM. C. B. standard.
