Greater Stitchwort [Stellaria holostea] is a conspicuous springtime plant and is related to Chickweed [Stellaria media] - a bothersome weed that troubles gardeners and allotmenteers. As the common name of this plant suggests is was once used in herbal remedies for 'stitch'.
