On Wednesday 1 July 2015, Search and Rescue helicopter operations moved from RAF responsibility at RAF Valley to HM Coastguard helicopter at Caernarfon Airport. The change is part of a £ deal with the new operator, the American-owned Bristow Group, and ends 60 years service from the RAF at the Anglesey base of C Flight 22 squadron.
