St. Paul's Chapel is an Episcopal Church located at 209 Broadway. Built 1764-66, it is the oldest surviving church in Manhattan. Its rear faces Church Street, on the east side of 'Ground Zero'. After the World Trade Centre terrorist attack of September 11th, 2001, it served as a place of rest and refuge for recovery workers. The Georgian church was made a National Historic Landmark in 1960.
