Heis a past chancellor of the Knights of Pythias and a member of the Grand Lodge,and was chaplain of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. He is anactive member of the Hamilton and Chicago Athletic Clubs, and widely knownas a consistent Republican—always ready to help his party in any way friends in the administrative circles are legion. He is the personal friendand physician to Senator Mason, and a host of other leaders in the party. Hehas never sought office, but has always been regarded as good timber.
