Floscularia sp., light micrograph. Floscularia is a genus of rotifers, small aquatic multicellular animals related to roundworms. They are usually freshwater organisms though a few marine species are known. Floscularia sp. forms a protective tube (orange) and captures food particles using water currents created by the beating of its hair-like cilia.
