As a mat- ter of fact, Mr. McCullough was on the Zoo-Eden Park street car, returning to his office, just ready to leave the car, when a revolver in someone's pocket was accidentally discharged, the bullet going through the fleshy part of Mr. M«Cullough's right forearm, just below the elbow, not injuring any of the bones. Mr. McCullough was immedi- ately taken to the Good Samaritan hos- pital, where he has been for five days. He is recovering rapidly and no serious results are anticipated. We wish you would insert this in your paper as given, as the wrong im- pression seems to have gotten out among the trade. J. Cbas. McCullough, Per Strong. A Cincinnati newspaper gives the fol- lowing account of the affair: "Mystery surrounds the shooting of J. Charles McCullough, prominent seed merchant, yesterday afternoon. Mr. McCullough was returning to his office at Fifth and Eggleston avenues from luncheon about 3:30 o'clock and was on the rear platform of a Zoo-Eden car when a bullet struck him in the right arm. Who fired the shot, whether it was accidental or an attempt on the man's life, is not known.
