A German cut & thrust sword,circa 1590. Double-edged,slightly ridged blade. Three fullers in the lower quarter of each side,the ricasso with five fullers. An indistict smith's mark stamped on one side. Extended quillons of octagonal section with slightly thicker finials. Ridged ring guards on each side. Hand guard with bars on both sides. Slender,stepped grip with leather cover. Pear-shaped pommel,slightly beveled. Old brass collection number attached.
