Paddington Basin is at the end of the Grand Union Canal. This of waterway was completed in 1801. In its heyday the Basin was a hub of activity. The canal system running through prime residential areas in Paddington and Maida Vale is known as ‘Little Venice’. In 2000 the area was drained and renovated and since then has been extensively developed. Following its regeneration it has become a flourishing residential, leisure and business centre.
