Family members, distinguished visitors, and friends gathered at McEntire Joint National Guard Base in Eastover, South Carolina, Feb. 16, 2019, to welcome Army Maj. Gen. Van McCarty, and his wife Susan, as the 29th adjutant general of South Carolina following a change of command ceremony. The ceremony recognized Army Maj. Gen. Robert E. Livingston, Jr., as the outgoing adjutant general and welcomed McCarty as the incoming adjutant general.
