The diaphragm is about one half thelength of the shell, convex, shininjr, white, and trans-lucent. C. jihtiiK lives »-enerally within the aperture oflarue dead shells. It has a wide ran^e, from Maine toFlorida. C. OCUleata. A common Floridian species which has a remarkable ratine, bcin^ found in nearly all the tropical and semi- tropical waters of the world.
