View of one of the two minarets of the Selimiye Mosque in the center of the old town of Nicosia. The Gothic St. Sofia Cathedral, built in the 12th century by Franconian cruzaders was converted into a mosque after the conquest of Cyprus by the Ottomans in 1571 and the two minarets were erected. The mosque is located in the Turkish north of Cyprus divided capital.
