Differs from M. sericea as follows :—The white feathers on the upper parts of the head are restricted to the long superciliary stripe, leaving the middle part of the forehead and base of the culmen black ; the white elongated feathers of the cheeks include some of the ear-coverts, and terminate in a point towards the shoulder.
