This snowy egret, Egretta thula, with its long shaggy head plumes looked most elegant perched above on a tree branch. The bright yellow lore and yellow feet on the white bird looked amazing against a beautiful blue sky. Those yellow feet have earned this species the nickname, The Bird with the Golden Slippers.
