TRUCKS The trucks under the motor cars are of the two-bar equalizertype, made by the Baldwin Locomotive Works. They have awheelbase of 7 ft. and a capacity for a center plate load of40,000 lb. The axles are of Taylor iron 6J/2 in. in diameter at thecenter and having journals 5 in. x 9 in. The wheels are 36^ -12X-2 * Electric Rij- Journal Southern Pacific Electrification—Folding Motormans Seat in diameter and are of the steel-tired type with cast-steel spokecenters. One of each pair of wheels has an extended hub toreceiv e the gear, which is shrunk on. The trailer trucks are verysimilar to the motor trucks, except that they are of somewhatlighter construction, being designed for a center plate load ofonly 35,000 11).
