Strong City, Kansas - The Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve. The Preserve, administered by the National Park Service, protects one of the few remaining parcels of tallgrass prairie, which once covered 140 million acres of North America. The 10,000-acre preserve incorporates the former Spring Hill/Z Bar Ranch, including a limestone chicken house with a natural sod roof.
