The Market. The local trade made great prepara- tions for the Easter trade, and, with but a few exceptions, no one was dis- appointed. Though nearly all the fac- tories here are on part time, a goodly number of plants and cut flowers were disposed of. It was a hard matter to hold stock back this year, owing to the warm winter which we had. Especially was this true with Easter lilies. There was a large supply of these on hand the first of the week, but by March 27 they were completely cleaned up. All other bulbous stock was to be had in large quantities, such as hyacinths, tulips, daffodils, potted plants of bougainvilleas, roses, spiraeas, a few azaleas, primroses, ericas, cinerarias, genistas, and a host of others. In fact, the array of potted plants was varied and made a beautiful dis- play, arranged in fancy baskets and ham- pers and covered with paper covers. From all reports, the greatest sellers were bulbous stock in pans of various sizes. The windows of the downtown stores were beautifully decorated, consisting of the various arrangements of potted plants, in fancy containers, and cut flowers of all kinds. The prices of all lines were some- what lower than last year. All hands are getting ready for the spring sale of bedding plants, which will start as soon as the weather permits. Last week several frosts were reported, so it will probably be some time before there will be a brisk demand for bed- ding plants. Various Notes. Park Gardens has removed its flower shop f
