A gold-mounted Saudi Arabian shamshir, circa 1900 Smooth single-edged, wootz Damascus blade with gold-clad, chased quillons. Three decorative chains attached to the gold grip, which is covered with filigree, and set with a few turquoises. Leather-covered wooden scabbard with decorative gold and silver filigree mountings. On the reverse side five carnelians inscribed with decorative scrip set in blue glass bead decoration. Silver suspension rings.
