. 1/6 Battalion, West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Own) Pte Aikman served with 'A' Company. He was posted as wounded, believed taken prisoner on 1 July 1916 at the start of the Battle of the Somme. However no further trace of him was ever found. He is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
