Nicholas Leinweber during a visit and tour of the installation, Aug. 10. While at NBG, Winkler toured various installation facilities to include ongoing construction projects at both X-Ray and Lima wharves. They also talked about quality of life issues in support of personnel and their families, and ongoing and future military operations at NBG. Winkler is a professional staff member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and serves as the staff lead for the AirLand Subcommittee. The subcommittee is responsible for Army and Air Force planning and operations policy and programs. In addition, he is the lead professional staff member for all Department of Defense Fixed-wing aviation operations and programs.
