Thomas Telford's suspension bridge across the Menai Straits, linking Anglesey (Ynys Môn) to the Welsh mainland. Started in 1819 it was opened in 1826 as a toll bridge. Modernisation and strengthening, including the addition of pedestrian walkways, commenced in 1938 and was completed in 1940, when the charge for crossing was dropped. From Anglesey side.
